Richard Curtis did his first degree in Electronic Engineering in Canterbury then went on to complete one of the very first Masters Degrees in Renewable Energy at Loughborough University in 1996.
He began his career working for Proven Energy in Scotland and then continued with the Engineering Business in Northumberland (including working on
the Stingray tidal stream generator), before starting his own company in 2004. This was initially called R.C. Engineering Solutions focusing on renewable energy projects across the North East.
In April 2007 he set up Verdant Engineering Ltd. specialising in energy consultancy, training & project management on a more global scale.
Claire Lumley studied Environmental Management at Newton Rigg College, now part of the University of Cumbria, then went on to work for a series of environmental organisations focusing on funding, practical conservation & development in the North East.
She also went on to study for a Masters Degree in Values & the Environment at Lancaster University in
1996, and is particularly interested in environmental philosophy and our impact on the planet.
